Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, is an Asian tiger that roars. In almost 150 years, it has grown. More than any other spot in the country, Kuala Lumpur, or “K.L.” as it is commonly known, is the focal point of new Malaysia. The past of the city is still present in the site of British colonial building designs as it stands side by side with the shining cosmopolitan city it has become today.

KL is the entry point for most international visitors to Malaysia and the meeting point of the country's many attractions.

Kuala Lumpur's city centre provides you with a plethora of choice for all budgets and tastes; you could begin in Central Market, KL's oldest market place with many arts and crafts from local towns and surrounding countries. A short walk away from here is Masjid Jamek, the oldest mosque in KL. Built in 1907, right between the confluences of the city's two main rivers, it's a monumental architecture to be appreciated. Right at this very place the history of KL started and was the main mosque of KL before The National Mosque was built in 1965.

Rising above in KL skyline at 1,453 feet, is the Petronas Twin Towers with a fabulous shopping arcade situated on its lower levels. Along Bintang Walk, you are bound to find all your fashion, electronic goods, or mobile computing needs. This is perhaps the busiest street in KL, with rows and rows of sidewalk cafes, restaurants, clubs, high-fashion boutiques, and giant malls. In Chinatown, you will have the chance to put your bargaining skills in action. You'll find loads of great buys and souvenirs to take home for the family and friends. Or you can experience a more cultural site at the magnificent Indian Temple, Batu Caves.

If city life gets too hectic for you, take a trip to the Kuala Gandar Elephant Sanctuary. This is where you get to spend some time with one of nature's most love mammal. You can feed, ride and bath them.

Come sundown, it's time to seek out the nightlife, as the other half of KL comes to a vibrant life. There are many bars and clubs to suite your entertainment fancies. There's the infamous Hard Rock Cafe or wicked retro, R&B, and techno colour clubs to choose from along the whole Jalan Sultan Ismail stretch, and they are all within walking distance! Take a taxi to Bangsar, an avenue where the expatriates call home, and where chic suburban locals enjoy meetings of “seen and be seen”.

With a multitude of 5-star hotels and conference centres, what better place to host an event if not in KL, where merchants and travelers from all over the world have been congregating for over 500years. “Selamat Datang ke Kuala Lumpur” or “Welcome to Kuala Lumpur”, a city that never sleeps.
